So Bridgerton! Portrait miniatures first appeared in European royal courts in the 16th century, and flourished during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. By the 18th century miniatures were often worn as jewelry, on a gold chain around the neck, or set into a ring or bracelet. This striking portrait of a young demure woman is painted in the style of Richard Cosway. Believed to be painted on ivory in the Regency Era, circa 1800. We paired this portrait with a slim antique French blue ribbon. A one-of-a-kind heirloom to treasure forever. Pendant measures 4” long and 3” wide and ribbon is 14” long untied.
