Do you accept consignment at Century Girl? How does it work?

​

All the time! We rely on our fashionable customers to fuel our appetite for new and exciting finds. Please call the shop at 504-875-3105 or submit your request via e-mail to hello@centurygirlvintage.com along with photos and as much detail as possible about your pieces. Because of increased safety measures during the pandemic, please call ahead or email us to make an appointment to drop off your items for consideration. We will determine what pieces are a good fit for our collection. 

 

How are prices determined?

Pricing will be set jointly with our consignors. After checking your consignment over for condition and resale value we will determine a likely sale price. Once we have agreed on the price and the item sells, we will split the proceeds - you will receive 50% of the sale. We generally set pricing at about 25% of the original retail value. Items with designer tags attached will be set at a higher price. We maintain a 20% cushion on price due to sales and seasonal markdowns. 

 

How does payment work?

We send out payment immediately via Venmo or Paypal, or you may pick up a check at our location. We do not mail checks. Additionally, you may use your credit towards future purchases.

What kinds of pieces do you take?

​

We accept vintage and designer clothing, shoes, handbags, costume jewelry, fine jewelry, and accessories. (Please note that, unfortunately, we do not accept wedding dresses on consignment at this time.) We are always looking for extremely unique pieces that stand the test of time. This means that the age of the garment is not necessarily as important as the style. Please keep in mind that our inventory is highly curated and focuses on rare styles and labels, so we may only accept a fraction of what you bring in. What if I don’t live in New Orleans?

We take pride in sourcing our items from around the globe. If you live outside New Orleans and wish to consign at Century Girl, please call or email us and let us know what items you are interested in consigning. If we feel they are a good fit, you may ship them to us. Any items that we do not accept will be shipped back to you at your request and expense.

 

Do you make house calls?

​

Yes! If you have a large number of items to consign we are more than happy to meet you at your home.  Are you overwhelmed with your closet? We can help! Please call or email us to make an appointment. At this time, masks must be worn during home appointments for the safety of our staff. 

 

How long do you keep the items?

​

We generally keep items for up to six months. After that time (or we've contacted you to let you know they have not sold), your items may be picked up, shipped to you, or donated at your request. We are not responsible for items that are not reclaimed and may opt to unload them (through donation or markdown) at that point.
