A rare piece of Victorian history! This ivory silk bodice features 39 die cuts and would’ve been used as a fancy dress costume. Scrapbooking was an incredibly popular past time in the Victorian era due to the new (at the time) mass manufacturing of colorful printed materials. This bodice is playful ode to the popularity of scrapbooks in the 19th century. All die cuts are original to the bodice, except one added by us (the dog on the pillow on the bottom right).
Fair antique condition—a large hole on one sleeve, some staining, silk shattering throughout, and bent and torn (some repaired) die cuts. Recommended as display, but could be very carefully worn for photos.
Bust: approx. up to 36”
Waist: approx. up to 26”
(These measurements may be slightly smaller than the actual flat measurements, although these measurements are recommended if it is to be worn or displayed due to the fragile nature of the garment.)
